A Girl and Her Horse

Case History

(W.L. September 2018)

In 2018, I had the pleasure of meeting a young woman who had just taken on her first rescued horse. The mare she adopted had been neglected, given a solitary life in a small stall and showed signs of other abuse. Even though this mare had endured this situation and had no trust, she still showed kindness, this was a good sign for her new owner and an encouragement to help support this beautiful 4 year old quarter horse to find a different way to live.

This young woman had heard that I work with horses through another client and asked me to assist her with this rescued mare.

In my practice, I use different wholistic modalities to support the healing and recovery of animals and humans, if that is not possible and a different path needs to be taken to assist them in the final transition of death, then as a death doula, I support them in that aspect too.

Not knowing what difficulties I was to meet in this instance, I was prepared to work in either direction for my client and her mare.

When I came out the first time to see them both, it was a clear there was a great potential for recovery. This was the confirmation my client needed and work begun, there on the spot. The first thing that was clear to me was how both of them where feeling isolated, pained, insecure, fearful and fish out of water in their worlds, it was no surprise that these two found each other.

Often what we find in our animals is a reflection of self and when we heal us, we heal them and visa versa.

The first thing I did was to greet them both with Heart… Some horses and a few people for that matter, are shocked to experience this approach by a human, many are met with agenda, ego, fear and or control. For this horses, I could tell, this was her experience.

She had not been met with an openness that gave her space to relax, show herself and then get curious. So that was first…

I work with horses much the same way I work with people, enquiring through intuition, experience and teachings as to the health of the full system, mental, emotional, physical and energetic/spiritual aspects of self and where the priority lies.

In the first session this young woman said she couldn’t get a saddle on her mare. Even though the mare was saddle broke, she would do everything possible to avoid the saddle. Riding was not possible at this stage and the young woman wanted to know why and if that would ever change.

What I found as a first priority was that her mare was in physical pain, two very critical places in the spine, one just below the withers and one right before the hips and sacral junction, where out so intensely that even message was to intense for her, it was clear she needed, soft tissue work and an equine chiropractor, that was the first step. A call was made and in a day or two the chiropractor would be out to begin the required adjustments. In the mean time I would do distant healing sessions with the mare through BodyTalk Therapy and Reiki Healing to establish a routine of care.

The first visit with the chiropractor changed so much for the mare that when I returned she was able to think and move with much improvement. This continued over the next while until she was almost entirely pain free and had ease in her gait.

At that point it was time to work with the emotional pieces, cellular memory in the body and see what we could release and bring into balance.

This mare had a lot to say and express, she was wanted to heal and so it began, I could tell not only by feel and communication but also by the way she moved there was layers of anxiety around isolation but also around being with other horses. This sense of not belonging, having no social skills with other horses had also wounded this mare and it was the next step in conjunction with the other healing work.

After continued therapy sessions through myself, Chiropractic Care, a great farrier and vet, we also found a young gelding that was perfect to put in the same corral to slowly start the integration of the herd already there on the ranch. These two got along brilliantly and the first strong connection to one of her own kind was made. Soon she was part of the herd.

When I work with clients, animal or human (humans are animals too) I create a place and a healing space that is used consistantly, in this case, it was in a corral just off the barn. This mare got to point that when she saw me drive in she would greet me and then go into that corral and wait for me. This is not uncommon but it makes my heart expand every time.

With consistent work in the round pen, arena and the healing space, this recovery and relationship bloomed so strongly that soon these two where happy and inseparable. Working with both human and horse was also a great benefit to finding their way with each other and it was a great pleasure to see this relationship build.

In just 3 months, this hard working and dedicated young woman had a horse that neither one of us recognized in just a short time! My client also found herself in a very different place and had healed much in her own circumstances.

Now, a year later this horse has her health, her herd, her person, a sense of heart and herself, that she now shares with all that she meets. Her newest best friend is a blue healer pup and she is a keen cattle horse.

She also lets my cleint know it's time for healing by standing in the healing space, it does'nt happen that often now but I love that beautiful peice of communication that bonds them so deeply, I inevitably get a call saying

" Hi Wanda, well she went to the pen again and I have a feeling it's this (what ever may be the issue) but I'd like to confirm...or maybe she just misses you..lol." I do love getting those kind of calls.

My human client has also found herself and her place in the world along with her mare, just as it was meant, with a marriage and baby on the way this herd of many beings are loving life and each other!

I do hope that this gives you a small idea of just how love, care, focus and dedication can change lives.

The Beauty of Fall is upon us !

With fall comes a shift from the busy buzzing of summer, to grounding, deepening in self and life. Without that grounding, the winter can be more difficult to sustain physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Fall also brings the opportunity to take stock, harvest what has grown through the summer, celebrate and be thankful for the results of what you have created and co-created to sustain you and yours for the next season.

This fall why not take the time to ground ground yourself, find ways to connect to nature, play with the leaves that the trees have let go of so they can put their energy and awareness to the rooting they do over fall and winter.

Now is an opportunity to feel that kind of shift and grounding through all aspects of your life.

Have a look at what you can let go of, like the trees, letting go of the leaves and focusing on their roots, it can be as easy as that to shift naturally into what serves you, supports you and those around you.

Recognizing how that grounding supportive action and energy allows you to be connected and empowered as an individual, bringing an assured focus to your intentions and all the while, having the awareness that you belong to a family, group or community that supports and relies upon your input.

You and your uniqueness belong and effect the whole.

The power of the wolf brings forth instinct, intelligence, forging freedom and the awareness of the importance of social connections and order. Always aware of the uniqueness and belonging of each individual and how they contribute to the pack or community. This animal allows for and promotes the growth of a young pups place in the pack, acknowledging and honouring the sacred gifts each individual brings to the health and wealth of the pack.

Wolf is a natural born teacher, imparting wisdom based on experience and connection to nature, as well as the unconscious that holds the secrets and the keys to deep inner knowledge. In some traditions the wolf is related to the Dog Star, Sirius, which they say was the original home of our Teachers and Gods in ancient times. The Egyptians believed this to be true and still to this day, there are tribes that hold this belief.

The Wolf holds a powerful place in the norse culture, firstly as a mighty and clever beast, Fenrir, who the Gods felt threatened by and tried to control rather than befriend, secondly, 2 wolves where companions to Odin (The All Father) and therefore revered as a companion of choice for their loyalty, fierceness and intelligence.

No matter how you feel about Wolf, their strength of character is present in folklore, beliefs and in nature. Again, with a powerful, caring sense of family and community, they incorporate an intuitive sense of social order and will fiercely defend the unique individual, along with the value of the entire pack. Hierarchy is instilled to empower the pack and empower each role taken, this means true leadership provides the allowance for all to contribute in their own way.

Perhaps we can have a look at our own unique characteristics and see how we contribute to our pack, our families and communities, discovering that maybe we have not given ourselves credit for what we do bring, a supportive role or a leadership role, both being equally important. Or maybe find a reflection where we have been wishy-washy or passive or aggressive in our interactions, rather than in our empowered truth.

Remembering that empowered is not a power-over position or action which comes from the ego, but rather an inner awareness and strength of the natural circle of laws inside of self.

Holding ourselves grounded in our truth, with respect and care.

We can also reflect on how we are supported, even if we think we are a “Lone Wolf”, there is always something or someone bigger than ourselves supporting us.

Wolf says to go within, connect to wisdom of mind, body and spirit to find you're divine truth. In your truth is an empowered and mighty place to, create, confess, respond, support, defend and heal anything you feel is yours to do.

A Memorial for a Special Man & A Sports Fan

In February I had the privilege to be asked to assist a family with the memorial arrangements for their beloved family member. His name was Art and as I got to know his family for the first time, I also got to meet a precious soul who touched me with his character, humour and tenacity.

I have a different take on death, as most of you know by now. There is a great respect for those who are dealing with such a great change. My love to assist all who are touched by death, loss and grief, feels like a great gift to me.

When I work as a Death Doula and Ceremonialist, I am there at many different stages of the dying and death process, from working with the person actively passing and their family, to having not met a person previously, but being asked to assist in the celebration of their lives, as well as grief counselling for those who need assistance to integrate their loss.

I will sometimes also get asked if I can connect to the dearly departed in a mediumistic manner as well. Often we as family and friends worry about the wishes of our loved ones, having the communication and clarification can sometimes be bitter sweet but helpful in those times of uncertainty. If I am asked to connect to the spirit of the loved one and I have not already assisted them in a Death Doula capacity, I am cautious and care for right timing, as well as the wishes of other family members, if they wish to be involved or leave it to the ones that do want the connection, I am always respectful of their wishes. In fact, it is not a service I openly offer at that time, simply because of the vulnerability of the situation.

In Art’s case, his sister came to me with a heavy heart and a concern for not knowing where to start and what to do. Art was not big on funerals and wasn’t bothered about having one, but my client’s and Art's Mom was in a retirement home and it was important for her to feel closure and honour her son. The family all agreed it was important to do and so the process began. It was also important to my client that Art was on the same page. That for the sake of those who loved and missed him to be able to gather and celebrate his life was important and ok with him.

Art’s presence was very strong in our session and there was great relief for my client to know that Art was not only ok with the idea of his celebration of life, but since it was going to happen, he might as well have a say in the music picked! All the music he picked through me where some of his favourites his family knew well, another confirmation that Art was communicating in the session.

There was laughter, tears and love very present in that session and in no time the celebration was organized. Art not only loved music but he loooooved his sports. He played baseball for years and along with some other chosen teams and sports, his love for baseball was very strong.

This sparked an idea which I shared with my client, I wanted to find used baseballs and have them available on each table to write a prayer or wish or kind word to Art at his celebration. It spoke volumes to my client and the decision was made to incorporate that into his celebration.

Little did I know how hard it would be to find used hardball baseballs in February!… and they had to be used, Art loved the character of objects and people… new just wouldn’t do and I love a challenge so off I went in search of used baseballs with hope and spirit with me !

After 2 days of searching Spirit finally provided a connection to Absolute Training Field in Calgary, it just so happened that they where planning to go through their ball inventory and when I told them why I was looking for used hardball baseballs they where touched by the sentiment and offered them up for free!!

With the stipulation that they can use the idea and put in their own wills. I walked out of the training facility with over 30 balls. What a score ! I knew Art was smiling. (Thanks to all the staff at Absolute Training Field for your gift and support!)

His family and friends gathered with love in their hearts and celebrated Art’s life with respect, authenticity, kindness and compassion. It was a honour to facilitate this memorial for them all.

This beautiful soul was a clever and quiet man, full of wisdom and character. Art did not live by anyones rules but his own and he taught me more about how to beat to my own drum, that when I see someone alone doesn’t necessarily mean their lonely and a quiet life is a precious life, oh and no matter what, throw the ball…. lol

Are You Taking Action?

I do hope you are finding this Spring full of wonder and joy!

With spring comes profound growth, new challenges and the beauty of transformation. This is the time of the quickening, when we become aware of nature waking up, seeds sprouting, herds of animals collecting, connecting, birthing and we awaken from the Dream Time (Winter) to take action on what we have seeded in our Dreaming. If we are aware and connected, we are experiencing the universe responding. With each action we take, the Universe responds.

Whether you are taking action to create a family, a business, an easier way to live, a healthier body, mind and spirit or any profound change for the better, your awareness of what you want and how you want it is important. As well, feeling completely supported and connected to your Source and to your Dream Stream is crucial.

To be in co-creation with your Source, allows for the unexpected and keeps things moving with the heart of your intention rather than getting married to an outcome, this brings magical results !

Antelope medicine is the knowledge of the Circle of life. Knowing of death, Antelope can truly live. Action and Connection is one of the the keys to living life to its fullest.

Antelope is also the symbol of decisive action. This is a herd animal so the actions Antelope represent are not just about the self, but the whole tribe and family as well. Here we see that Antelope also teaches us that we are all connected and what we do for ourselves effects all others.

One of the many stories of Antelope teaches us that before the last ice age humans did not need to eat meat to survive because it was a time of plenty but as time went on and the glaciers persisted, it became clear that the human race was in trouble if they did not take action and adapt to their changing environment.

Antelope approached with a message of hope and action for the humans, offering itself up to nourish them with his own flesh and warm them with his coat. The humans were taught never to waste or take more than they needed. In this way all would be honoured and balanced.

The message from Antelope to humans was to take action right now, quickly, for the time is right. Antelope taught the humans that life is a never ending cycle of death and rebirth, that sacrifice is sometimes needed and adaptability was a must, for nothing stays the same too long. Antelope showed humans how to use every part of his body for good that could help the human tribe stay alive through the harsh conditions on planet Earth.

The Antelope shows us how to be of service in balance, in constant reciprocity. The chance to seize the deep honouring that we are all connected and as we receive, we give and as we give, we receive. By connecting to that which is greater than ourselves, wether it be a herd of Antelope, Nature, The Universe, Your Source, Family or Community, we find a way to not only sustain ourselves in action but also in trust with our connection, that knowing there is a bigger system we can draw from.

Do you need to take decisive action in some area of your life ?

Whether it be on the physical, mental or spiritual planes. This is about being resourceful. Antelope says look beyond the obvious and find where the action is needed. The Antelope speaks to you to do what is necessary to keep yourself healthy and strong, no matter what level that is on. By staying connected and asking for clarity, you will know what that is for you.

Make a decision, take the necessary action to achieve it and trust in right timing. This is living empowered.

A Systemic Constellation & Family of Origin Healing (J.C. December 2018)

FIND HEALING THROUGH TRUE ACCOUNTS OF CLIENT’S EXPERIENCES

This session started as many of them do, the client comes to me with a need but an inability to articulate what is truly at the core of their difficulty. Her intention was to remove what was blocking her freedom. Through the process of enquiry we find that the symptoms of the issue result in her inability to be open and trust in love relationships, she feels her freedom is blocked and is unable to move forward in her business, relationships and life. As the enquiry continues she realizes that there are many connections to this current issue and her body responses as we spoke, particularly at her neck and head. She has had throat, neck and head aches since she can remember.

Cellular memory and entanglements can profoundly effect us, in this work, it can be found in our current life’s past, a past life and or an ancestor's history, many times showing itself in our physical bodies as well as our experiences.

Once I had her set up the constellation with the chosen participants, we found that the source of the issue showed itself to be related to a past life.

Through the intricate and divine dance inside “The Knowing Field” the source of the issue became apparent as a past life entanglement effecting her freedom, emotional connections and communication. As the experience unfolded before us the client began to feel and see the entanglement was the result of a love triangle which resulted in the murder of herself and her lover in that previous life. The murderer being what was once also a beloved friend, that friend betrayed the client by killing her love and then her, by stabbing her in the back of the neck. The unresolved feelings and trauma of that relationship had resonated into this one and the energy of this previous friend was still present in her energy here, in this life. Her freedom was effected by the inability to trust, express herself, to move forward without the threat of betrayal, as well as, the energy of the murder still holding her back from life. This effected her personal life and also her business collaborations and partnerships. All resulting in blocks of growth and success.

Through healing statements, soul movements and karmic releasing this entanglement released with the great relief of not only the client but all involved inside the entanglement.

The result of this healing process brought a great physical release in the neck and throat of the client. Her ability to move and express in her body and her life has greatly changed, all this showing itself due to her intention to experience freedom. This effective work is still un-folding in her life and I look forward to hearing and giving an update as time progresses.

Hello Everyone ! Happy New Year !

I do hope this finds you all in a healthy and peaceful state after the holidays. The holidays can be bitter sweet for many and I do hope that you all found your own ways to connect to those that you love, those present and those who are dearly missed. Remembering and honouring them with the ones around us can truly heal the heart and soul of us all.

Which is something integral to bring into this new year as well.

The coping skills needed for change and acceptance are still a part of this coming years requirements, along with other opportunities to do things in new and more aligned ways.

This year brings more change, more intensity and calls us to connect to our patience, creativity, trust,

flow and open ourselves to potential without limitations.

A New Newsletter Format For Just That!

Walking Soul Wisdom would like to assist you with those attributes and more through the values and archetypes born and inherit in its creation. This company creation comes from a heartfelt and divine driving force that manifested a container to fulfill the purpose of its founder. This business propels a sacred dream to be of service to the wounded, the lost and the searching, along with celebrating our victories and life’s accomplishments.

In traditional Seidr and or Shamanic teachings it is known and honoured that we do not do our work alone. That there are always teachers, ancestors, helpers and protectors in this realm and all other realms who as- sist us and do what needs to be done. The archetypes that birthed and sustain this company are all powerful in their own right and in order to honour the energies that contribute so much to Walking Soul Wisdom, I would like to share them with you here in these now quarterly newsletters.

It was magical and a true gift in the way that each one of these archetypes presented themselves. These archetypes where not picked, they picked Walking Soul Wisdom. It was additional confirmation in many ways that the creation of this business was meant to be and that it holds a powerful presence all of itself.

The business values held by this company and me, it’s founder, are also integrated to the success of each and every being it touches. So this, along with the Archetypes will send us on a path of enquiry and enlightenment. My hope is that you enjoy the ride with me !

In this newsletter we will look at the Archetype ”The Star” with the Value of “Sacredness”

The Star is a beacon, a point of light to pursue and or to follow. The star can represent our desires, goals and even our true spirits in our awake, walking dreaming. In some traditions the conscious connection to our “Soul Star” helps us to feed our lives, our experiences here on earth and gives us a destination, a homing device, for our death.

We all need energy to do both life and death well, with the sacred relationship to our Source (whatever that looks like for you), suppling us with that force of energy and comfort. The Star can represent that sacred connection, symbolizing faith, trust and clarity.

Also a messenger of new beginnings, the energy Star holds is illumination and enlightenment in all darkness. What we wish to illuminate can be brought to awareness with the support of The Star.

The Star sings a sacred song of connection, home and the collective soul.

How do you hold the Archetype of Star, how do you hold the Value of Sacredness?

Sacredness allows you to be with an energy that informs you of a greater presence, honouring what is (not what you want it to be) and allowing for something bigger than you, to hold you.

In my practice, it is often said that I create sacred space. I would agree to a certain extent, as what we think, we make, but in my experience with energy, I do not create it, I simply open a container where sacredness already exists.

There is a sacredness in everything, if you choose to be with it. What do you hold sacred?

Sacredness is in nature, in a church, in an office, in a workshop, in a hospital, in a prison, sacredness to me, is also anywhere where there is life and death and that is everywhere when you think about it.

The Star and Sacredness is inside of you and you are the conscious expression of both.

A Meditation to Connect and Winter Seed

Make yourself comfortable, sit down, make sure that your feet are on the ground, and then take a deep breath.

As you breathe out, you may breathe out all the thoughts and experiences of the day. And just allow yourself to relax. Just being with yourself.

Breathing out any tension or stress that is in your body. Breathing in peace.

Feel your body relaxing as you do that.

And now the next time that you breathe in, I’d like you to imagine that you breathe in all the way through your body, all the way to your feet, as if you are nurturing your entire body with this oxygen, with this energy of your breath.

So take a deep breath in and imagine that it goes all the way down, all the way in.

And now place your attention on your base chakra at the base of your spine, and create a grounding chord there with your intention. It’s a connection between the base of your spine and the earth.

And let that connection, that grounding chord, go very deeply into the earth.

Honour Mother Earth for her nurturing and ground deeper, feel her embrace you, feel the energy returning to you.

And then also make a grounding chord under your left foot and your right foot, and just feel those connections with Mother Earth as well.

Now bringing your attention to your Source above you. As you breath out that light and high vibration drops into the top of your head and fills your body, dancing with the energy of Mother Earth, inside you, these two energies clear and cleanse - heal and rejuvenate

And now with your attention, turn inside and go into your heart, right in to the core of your heart centre and allow that heart energy to expand as you do that, filling with the As Above and the So Below, along with your own personal heart expression. This radiates now, not just inside yourself but outwards as well, as a very bright light.

That light is filling not only your body now but your entire energy field, radiating, clearing, cleansing and healing any holes, cracks or dents in your energy field. Feeling connected, call all those that guide and protect you into your intention and meditation.

And now, now that you are centred in this way, reflect on the past year that you’ve had, and see the different experiences that you’ve had, the different learning experiences – the challenges, the victories, and also what you gained from your experiences and allow that to be shown to you now.

Ask to be shown the gifts of this previous year and keep breathing as you do that.

As you reflect on these gifts, you integrate them into your being, with each deep breath and feel who you have become, in this moment, through all the experiences that you’ve had, the building blocks to where you are now. What you have healed?

You’ve stepped up in this year – and there’s more to come, this is a special time that you can reflect on, honour your connections, your life and your future.

So take another deep breath and go back with your attention to your heart centre. Just allow the thoughts and the images and the feelings of this past year to float away again and be centred in this moment – right here, right now

And now we’re going to take a look at the future.

So imagine that you are on this pathway, this path is sparkling with snow and crystallized snow flakes glisten like stars as you walk and you turn in the direction that you want to go in, and you see or feel this path. And maybe you can see far ahead, maybe you can just see a few meters in front of you – it doesn’t matter.

Just imagine that you are standing on this path. And it’s your path, it’s your journey, so if there’s anything that you would like to encourage yourself to do or anything that you would like to experience in this coming year, you can put that intention out and bring it on to this pathway now.

You can focus on something specific, like a new job or a relationship or financial abundance – or you can focus on feelings.

Do you want to feel more relaxed, more happy, more balanced, more confident… Whatever it is, pull it in. Think about what you want for yourself, in your heart and put it in that path, like a marker or fuel stop.

Imagine what it looks like. Imagine yourself literally walking into it. Being with it, in it. Carrying it. Integrating it in your life.

With as much ease and grace as possible. You can now imagine that you start walking down this path, as you do, you realize you are waking the path of your Dreams, seeding the future. You’re fully centred in yourself. You’re with your power right here, right now and the future is now, so you know that there’s good things ahead of you.

And as you walk, the scenery might change. You might experience things that you didn’t expect. For right now you can just intend to go with the flow of that, to just move along with whatever life is going to bring you, because you have set your intention, so that is set into motion already.

And sometimes life gives you a little detour because there is something to gain from it, so it is important to be flexible and embrace the journey. Just as you would enjoy the journey as you were walking down this snowy, beautiful landscape. When you’re walking out in nature like that, you are enjoying that moment, and that’s what it is about. Remembering to see light in darkness. The rest in stillness and birth in death. You have seeded into the Mystery, connected to your Dreaming.

Now let this image go, this image of the road, of you walking, and return to feeling your body in this moment.

Take a few deep breaths and let these breaths go all the way down, all the way in. Feel how you are feeling now, what this did for you. And if you want you can bring in a feeling of excitement, or wonder, or whatever you want to bring in – feel it in this moment. Bring it into your heart, into the here and the now. Because that’s the most powerful place to create your future from. Dream it in through the heart.

Take another deep breath and as you breathe, slowly open your eyes, look around you and fully come back into the room, into the here and now, where you are now, strong, whole and fully present with your Dreams seeded and your Connection strong to your source and your future.

How are you Consciously Connecting

Welcome to the time of year of Thanks Giving, All Hallows Eve, Samhain, Day of the Dead & Alfablo’t (The Old Norse version of Halloween, known as Sacrifice to the Elves) and many other traditions around the world.

Welcome to the Dream Time, seeding in darkness (winter) and the time to honour the Connection To All That Is.

With many of us living on seasonal lands, this magical time of year (fall to winter) is a reminder to honour what has been harvested, to connect to nature, the Elemental Energies, God, Gods/Goddesses and Ancestors, showing gratitude for what has been procured for the winter season and asking for assistance, guidance and protection from those that we connect to during the time of the cold, the quiet and the Dream time.

This time of year is also a common time to acknowledge the death and life cycle we all are a part of. No matter where we are in the world, life and death, death and life is a constant. How we or when we connect and honour it depends on the traditions, but we all do, one way or the other.

We are all connected to this Universal Law of duality (Birth & Death, In Breath & Out Breath, Beginnings and Endings) and wether we know it or not, our instinct is to connect to it, each other and something bigger than ourselves. For me, this is a confirmation in so many ways, fore, if there was nothing else I trusted in, I trust in my instincts, after all it is the nature of what I am, animal… yes, humans are animals. It is a scientific fact. Are we more than animals, maybe…but I personally feel that all creatures great and small, have souls and contribute just as intelligently, if not in better alignment than humans, to this planet. By the way, I also trust in much more than my instincts, but it is a good place to start!

No matter what your belief systems are, it is also a reminder to not get to big in our britches and forget that our Connection is what feeds us, that we are a part of Creation, a Collective, maybe coming to an awareness that we are so much more than we are taught in this society. Connected to so much more.

We are all creating relationship to something constantly, inside and outside of ourselves to support our survival, our quality of life and be with our loved ones. If we are not honouring our Connection, than we are not in right relationship to ourselves or what we are connecting too. What kind of relationship do you have with yourself? others? your life? even the weather? Is your Connection strong with positive energy and purpose, or are you a victim of your circumstances.

Without Conscious Connection we isolate ourselves and the more we isolate or individualize, the more we become vulnerable. We are all connected. No man is an island. A hug a day keeps the doctor away …. oh the quotes just keep on coming! They are all there to remind us to Consciously Connect to be nourished, fed, supported.

Which brings us back to this time of year and the opportunity to celebrate Connection in our own way, wether it be All Hollows Eve, Thanks Giving, Samhain or in other ways, humans have been creating Relationship and Connection for thousands of years through ceremony, ritual and prayer.

This is why this time of year is so precious to me. I get to honour the cycles of life and nature, honour those that guide and protect me, I do a special honouring of my ancestors for the life they have given me. The veils being as thin as they are, the Connection is easy and powerful. I also get to deepen my Connection every year as I grow, for as I grow, my Connection grows.

The vastness and perfection of who you are is already inside of you, the Connection to All That Is, feeds what you are. I invite you to Consciously Connect in your own way. It can be as simple as reaching out to your Source, meditation, opening your heart space for another, singing a song, creating a prayer or making a phone call. Maybe it’s as elaborate as a ritual or ceremony, either way know that what you put in is reciprocated, always.

What do you hold sacred?

The best way to discover the sacredness inside of you and how you hold it is to ask yourself some questions. Here are some things to consider…..

First - What do you hold sacred? Is it your heart, your mind, your body, your spiritual source or all of those things? What is your strongest source of energy ? Who do you call too, to fill this space? Once you know that, then you have a foundation to build with. Go deep with this, what you first may think may not be real…hint if your thinking it, you may be only in the mind, remember to feel it, know it and embody it.

Secondly - Sacredness starts with you, where you hold conflict is where you have the opportunity to call in sacred space. In yourselves it can be a place to allow yourself patience or perhaps hold a space to experience victory or failure in neutrality, to hold sacred space for others could be a place to open your heart, provide a quiet yet grounding support or allow them a safe, confidential space to express themselves.

Third - There is no room for the ego in sacred space, only neutrality. The pendulum can swing here, and the belief of “I am everything” swinging to “I am nothing” will not bring a Sacred Space. Finding a way to be without judgement of self and others is crucial.

Fourth - The presence of self esteem, able to truly give and receive in humble worthiness, without expecta- tions, is powerful and felt in the quality of the sacred space opened.

In conclusion, authenticity, integrity and honour placed in a Sacred Space allows for a wholeness, a quality of unconditional love, a high vibration and a spiritual presence where true magic can be realized.

How do you hold sacred space?

Holding sacred space for yourself, for your life and for others is one of the best ways to stay connected, honour yourself, others, your spiritual source and the world around you.

Whether you do this by simply listening to your inner knowing, holding patience for yourself, deeply listening to another (without needing to respond or fix), witnessing your world from a place of neutrality or creating an environment to do spiritual practices, a sacred space, inside or out, is a powerful place to experience.

Holding sacred space allows you to be with an energy that informs you of a greater presence, honouring what is (not what you want it to be) and allowing for something bigger than you, to hold you.

In my practice, it is often said that I create sacred space. I would agree to a certain extent, as what we think we create, but in my experience with energy, I do not create it, I simply open a container where sacredness already exists.

There is a sacredness in everything, if you choose to be with it.

Sacred space is in nature, in a church, in an office, in a workshop, in a hospital, in a prison, sacredness to me, is also anywhere where there is life and death and that is everywhere if you really think about it.

Sacredness is inside of you.

To create sacred space is simply a way to hold yourself, your heart & your spiritual source in a space of your choosing, for who you choose. What ever it is in the form of, a honouring and gratitude of a personal inner gift or conflict, space to hold others in, or a place to pray, send intent, it doesn’t really matter, the art of holding sacred space is accessible to us all.

This is a beautiful way to feel and be connected to all that is, everything touches something else I have heard it said and believe that to be true for myself. To take the time to open this sacred space is a huge energy gain and we can all use that in this busy world.

With one reminder! Care for the space you open. If you open sacred space outside of yourself and it’s not in a alter/mesa form, protect & honour your energy and others by closing it as well!

I invite you to open this space anywhere, in yourself or your world, especially where it is most needed. Remember it holds you and so much more.

How to heed the call to Heal

If you are aware of something in your life that is not working, maybe it’s your health, your mental inner dialogue, your emotional state and or unhealthy patterns or beliefs keep showing up…or maybe you have been on this healing path for some time now and want to further your pursuits.

Maybe it’s time to heed the call to heal….more.

There is a movement we can connect to which supports us and at the same time allows us to contribute too, in our own magnificent way.

This movement is effective in allowing us to express a essence of our soul’s purpose, experience self worth and self accountability. To know that as you heal yourself you heal others, that you are a small part of a much bigger picture yet crucial to it’s whole.

It is known as the Collective Consciousness of All Humans. Did you know that everything we do effects the consciousness of our human collective. By heeding the call to heal, one way or the other, we contribute to the healing of all.

This means we can also pull from it as well. It is also a energy to connect to, to help us with our intention to heal. I can guarantee you there is a awareness out there that knows just how to heal what you are experiencing and wish to change for the better.

Here is a suggestion to work with your Call to Heal:

ABOVE ALL ELSE OPEN YOURSELF TO A BETTER WAY OF BEING

First - Take a simple action everyday and call upon the Human Collective and your Source to support you and supply you with what you most need at this moment. Then narrow your intent to keep it clean and simple.

Second - Be aware of the messages you are receiving from the Collective and your Source. Remember to write your dreams down as we are experiencing inside the Human Collective in our dream time, be aware of the repetitive patterns that might show up e.g. A herb or a vitamin keeps coming up in conversation or you hear a song that sparks a awareness or a person refers you to someone with a modality that you where already thinking of.

Thirdly - Follow the intuitive urges you might usually ignore. Do what your inner knowing is speaking.

Fourth - Trust in yourself and the process.

REMEMBER - Be aware of your messages, signs and body reactions, your world is always speaking to you.

The Call to heal

Have you noticed that the movement of looking outside of conventional methods of healing are rising?

I am happy to say that I am.

There is much more to do, to bring this new way of thinking and being into main stream society, but look around you, things have changed and are changing slowly but surely.

Wether people are aware of this movement or not, the call to heal is happening in so many ways. What doesn’t work is rising to the surface to be healed, just look at our news and politics to see that in action.

People are also realizing that what has been inside of main stream society, medicine, psychiatry and even the “death” industry, are not fully working. There have been amazing break throughs in most of those fields and don’t get me wrong, I believe there is a place for all of it. All of us.

Who says we can’t engage in a fuller experience with healing? As an example, who says we can not have a surgeon that is supportive of a energy worker’s presence in a patients healing experience. Who says when I die that I can’t do it at home and have a home service or memorial that honours my life and my families ways.

We are starting to take our power back as individuals and as a collective. No longer allowing a system to dictate or giving our power over to another, letting someone else control what is happening with us, even if we are of sound mind and have a different knowing.

I personally, am Dreaming in a life where if something happens, I have all the resources possible to bring me back into balance. To be able to introduce different modalities to each other and have them honour and respect the part each one of them plays in my healing experience or my death experience for that matter.

Imagine that. It is coming…..

We are still dealing with some old thinking but as a whole I see and feel the shift happening. I have just recently met a young doctor with just that perspective. In fact this person’s intention is to be a pioneer inside of the medical field to bring these modalities together. To open up their practice to include full option of services including body, energy and faith healing.

Awareness and change is happening !

Finding a Healthy Relationship with Change

Many of us are now aware….Thought is power, when we create a thought, we create a emotional response to our thoughts and this creates a change, in our body, our energy and environment. Our perception creates our reality. The universe responds to our thoughts and creates our past (how we feel about it) present and our future. If you are in fear of change, then you may well have a unhealthy perception of every day occurrences, never mind the big moments.

Exercise

Grab a pen and paper or use a recording devise. Also take a offering of tobacco or sage or any offering feels right to you to give to nature.

Now go out into nature and sit with a tree. Breath deeply and get centred in your body, reach for neutrality. Call your powers of Guidance and Love around you, protecting and supporting you. Creating Sacred Space.

Ponder on nature, the seasons, maybe picking up a leaf or pine cone.

Have a look at your day or a recent impactful event. Creating space for reflection.

How did you deal with the unexpected mentally, emotionally, physically & spiritually?

Did you see or feel the big picture in action during this time, empowered with seeing past the moment, even if it was a negative or scary one? Or did you feel isolated and react in fear or anger? Maybe it was a journey for you and you experienced all those feelings. Allow anything that feels uncomfortable to resurface and blow the negative into the ground, honouring Mother Earth for her support as she eats up what does not serve you.

Feeling the change in nature as a intuitive and natural calling to a new way of being with change in your life. See that in yourself. Finding a place of acceptance of change. Ask the tree, what can I do to accept change better in my life?
Write or record your answers.
Feeling grounded, focus on the now and find a new meaning for change right now, in the moment.
Ask the tree to assist you in this.
Ask what serves me in seeing change differently? What is my new definition of change?
Write or record your answers.
Then when your ready ask the tree what you can do to allow yourself the time to engage in self-care, allowing yourself time to relax during difficult times?
Perhaps there is forgiveness work to do, for self or of others or perhaps integrating loss and grief are needed.

This process and self care are proven to alleviate stress, anxiety, negative thinking, and depression. It helps to recharge our minds, bodies and spirits, which then allows us to be more positive and effective in everything we choose.

Remember that if you are dealing with an illness or death, that you may not have consciously chosen that particular challenge but that change is present in your life and how you proceed either empowers you or not, regardless of the circumstances. Trust in self, care for self and reach for support. Write or record your answers.

Thank the tree, earth and your higher guidance for their answers and honour them by giving a offering of tobacco or herbs.

For 21 days, focus on allowing and experiencing the positive outcomes of change.

What is Your Relationship With Change?

Do you avoid change? Or do you meet it with optimism and curiosity? If fear does come up, what do you turn to? Anger or Trust? What triggers in you? When your triggered do you tend to be in fight, flight or freeze?

Do you worry? If you spend time worrying, then thats a pretty good sign there is room to improve a your relationship with change.

This year of 2018 has been a wild ride so far, each year holds it’s gifts of change and we can look forward to more of these big energy shifts, changes, opportunities and challenges of old ways breaking away.

With the pressures of society, the fear based news, the accelerated movement of the collective, moon cycles, solar eclipses, flares and earth changes. It is not surprising that we may be reactive or at the very least wondering how to deal with what is happening and what might be coming next.

All I can say is, stay in gratitude, stay out of the fear mongering, keep the faith that what ever is happening is a chance to be different in your world. That the events in your life are a calling to be aware and authentic in your body, mind and spirit. Trust in the process, especially if there is a definite personal transition happening now or coming your way.

Make change your Ally. Trust in change, it is the very core and alchemy of life, all life, in all realms. Life is only possible because of change.
Sometimes we forget to breath, trust and or allow in the big moments. How are you meeting these experiences?

Are you allowing yourself the space to rest, move, express in a healthy way, trust and or if trust is a bit out of reach, at least be in gratitude when it matters most?

Create a space for change to give you something better, more in alignment with your Sacred Dream and Soul Walk.

Remembering to be in the present moment, that the past and future can not serve you unless you are present, here in the moment, honouring the gifts. Also remembering that your manifestation happens now, not the future, the future is only the reflection of what has already happened and manifestation can not happen without change.

Change is not something to avoid, but rather to appreciate, to work with, rather than against.

Either way choose change. To choose change means you choose life, here, now and if not here, choose life in the next realm. As a Death/Soul Midwife it is important to honour the biggest change of all and trust in life after life too. What does that look like for you ?

So no matter what is happening with your inside or outside world, don’t be a victim of it, rather be in your gratitude & trust. Allow your truth to be present in your life, in your body, manifesting positive change and know that you are guided, loved and supported by something
bigger than you, what ever that looks like for you. Maybe it’s Family, The Universe, Spiritual Beliefs, Religion, Science or Nature.

Anything is possible, for us as individuals and as a collective contributing to our universe. What are you contributing with your relationship with change?

TOOL BOX: 5 Ways to Honour your Ancestors

Build a Mesa, Alter or Shrine : If you can’t visit grave sights, create a place to honour, talk to and pray for your ancestors, not just the ones you know but also the ones you don’t. Dig through family history the best you can or get in touch with some of your older relatives, you will probably find pictures or even precious items owned or made by those who went before you. If you can’t find pictures or things owned by them, little things that remind you of them can also be created. Gather these things together in an area of your house or living space where you’re sure to notice them at least once a day.

Make offerings to your Ancestors : Present the offering along with your intention, let it be heart felt and authentic. Physical offerings may include food, drink, coins, cloth, tobacco, ash, tears, stones and other found objects, flowers, fire, and creations made with your hands. Offerings to the ancestors can also take less physical forms such as songs, dancing and prayer.

Dedicate Positive Actions to Ancestors : To make a intention to do good and to care for the energy that is being dispersed into your body, lineage and the world is a great way to create positive energy and honour your family lineage. Healing practices, forgiveness, releasing of unbeneficial patterns or relationships that no longer serve you or the greater good is a great way to raise vibration and have it ripple through generations.

Talk to them and let them talk to you : Share your thoughts, wishes, intentions and give them the opportunity to respond. Be open to receiving messages in many different ways, ask that they communicate with you in specific ways like finding dimes or feathers, what ever speaks to you. Stay open to guidance and communication such as intuitive knowings, messages in dreams, or other signs that speak to you.

Fulfill Your Soul’s Purpose in Love and Integrity : The most important and most challenging way to honour your ancestors is to fulfill your personal potential and life’s purpose while we are here on Earth. To walk our path in integrity and be courageous in pursuit of our Sacred Dreams, to celebrate our successes and accept our failures as lessons is also one of the best ways to honour the ones that came before us.

TREAT THEM AS YOU WOULD BE TREATED. REMEMBER THAT ONE DAY YOU ALSO WILL BE AN ANCESTOR

ARE YOU AWARE OF HOW MUCH YOUR FAMILY’S PAST EFFECTS YOUR PRESENT?

It is said that as we are born into a family, that we inherit not only our biological genes but also our belief and behaviour systems. Further more, the hurts, traumas and impactful events that have happened deep in our families history can also show itself in our lives.

For those of us who have chosen to take action in healing ourselves for any number of reasons, this can be a revelation. One of those aha moments that we pray for when what we are trying to heal within us seems bigger than ourselves or when the core of the issue is not showing up in our own life experiences. Sometimes our first place to look is at our past life issues, if that is your belief system, but this is only one of many places to go exploring. Consider Ancestral influence.

Sometimes we find ourselves encountering experiences or repetitive behavioural patterns that continue to persist in spite of our repeated attempts to find release and heal through various therapies and healing techniques. From the standpoint of Family of Origin Constellation Therapy this is viewed as an entanglement in someone else’s experience, heart ache, pain or the phenomena of assuming the suffering of our ancestry lineage. When a trauma has been denied, suppressed or unhealed it is possible that it will show up in later generations as a way to bring awareness and healing within the lineage. Taking this on as a soul coming into the world as you step into your family energy field can be quite an undertaking without any awareness of how it effects the undercurrent of your life and your current families dynamics as well.

Longings, depression, addictions, behaviour patterns, suicides and attempts, unwanted pregnancies, abortion, loss of children, miscarriages, life-threatening accidents or illnesses (both physical and mental), murder, war, prisoners and refugees etc. are all examples of some of the seemingly inexplicable patterns and reverberations that might recur within a family lineage. We can carry those unresolved issues in our bodies, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, as a result it can show up in our lives in countless ways.

It is a sad fact that many of us no longer care for our Dead, care for our Ancestors or have stories, memories passed down or awareness of our family lineage much further back than our grand parents. This can be seen as an immigrant issue as well as a death phobic society issue among other limitations.

The saving grace is that our Souls and Ancestors have memory beyond our human awareness, that what ever we haven't healed will always come back around one way or the other for us to shift it, and this is one of the ways we have the opportunity to raise our vibration personally, as a family energy unit and also ultimately as a collective. Our current family’s energy field holds the awareness and ability to change and heal old patterns that no longer serve us as individuals, families, communities and even as a human race. This is how we make things happen, one step at a time and keeping it simple. As we explore our options on our personal healing path this is a great way to see and feel first hand the beauty of healing our life and something bigger than ourselves. This is a gift.

It is said that when we heal ourselves we heal 7 generations past and 7 generations in the future. I would like to think that it reaches even farther than that, as I do this work it feels very likely. Imagine the possibilities of cleaning up just one of these entanglements for ourselves and for our Childrens Children before we become their Ancestors. WOW! THE UNIVERSE IS RESPONDING FAST THESE DAYS

Have you noticed your thoughts, your intentions and what your inner dialogue looks like lately?

Have you noticed that the universe is responding with what seems to be the speed of sound at times?

Seriously folks, I remember a time when I would throw my energy out there with prayer, intention and purpose and see it return in a month or two or six, depending on what I was setting out to manifest.

Now, I think a thought, set an intention and it is returning sometimes as fast as 24 hours! I even had the experience last week of the turn around being as fast as a morning thought and an afternoon delivery.

Crazy right!

This intensity is largely due to the energy shifts and raised vibrations that are happening in this universal soup of ours. It is truly an amazing time to be here, to be on this planet, to witness and experience these pivotal transitions. Wether you are on board or not there is no looking back, humans as a collective now need to wake up and step into the amazing beings we truly are. As a race, our worldly behaviour is not reflecting our true spirit. We get to change that, one thought at time.

The other reason things might be manifesting for you quickly, is that you have found the sweet spot to manifesting, you have done your work and are in alignment with your Soul’s Walk. You have mastered the Secret and aspects of Quantum Physics intuitively and or with purpose. Well done.

Now lets look at how much we need to care for our daily thoughts! Remembering that the universe has no discernment and listens and responds to ALL thoughts is scary but true. What does your inner dialogue look like? How often do you think you don't have enough money, time or rest? How often does anger, stress or pain come into your day?

Self responsibility is crucial here, knowing that we have created our entire life experience, past , present and future, can be a hard pill to swallow but without the responsibility, the awareness is inept. Imagine what the world would look like if we all functioned with awareness and self responsibility.

The trick to manifesting is to be responsible for what your sending out, recognize the signs, believe in your vision. Don’t get caught up in or be married to an idea of how it will show up, be open to receiving what comes and then follow through, stepping into the dance of action as the universe provides the intended outcome. Anything is possible, for us as individuals and as a collective contributing to our universe.

Welcome to the official Blog launch of Walking Soul Wisdom !

I am so excited to share with you the business and work of my dreams. Walking Soul Wisdom has manifested out of years of personal healing, schooling, ceremonies and learning to love and expand my abilities.

It is a honour and a privilege to assist my fellow travellers on their Soul Walk!

Walking Soul Wisdom brings the opportunity to discover and share healing, health, happiness and expand our awareness to our inner and outer worlds.

I invite you to my website to discover all the life changing opportunities. Part of how effective our healing and happiness is, depends on how open we view our ourselves and our outer worlds.

Which brings me to the following quick questionare....

Which of these do you agree with?

1. Intelligence is fixed at birth.

2. Some people are creative, others aren’t.

3. You can become a worldclass expert through enough practice, whatever your starting point.

4. You can change your personality.

If you agree to the first two statements, you’re coming from a fixed/rigid mindset. If you agreed with the last two statements, you’ve got a growth/fluid mindset. If we open ourselves to change and trust in the process, amazing things can happen for us.

Have you taken the time to REST?

In our society busy is the norm. Non-stop work, family, kids, pets and even hobbies can cause us to forget to take the time to truly rest our minds and bodies. Winter Solstice is the peak of the power of darkness. It is among other things, the Womb Time, the Resting Time. It is the time when plants store up their energy for the big reveal. Why don’t we give ourselves the gift of remembering that we are of the plants, of this earth for a time being and stop resisting our nature ? What is life without rest and introspection?

A Few Suggestions:

Take a bath , soaking in a tub of water connects you to the element and flow of water. Water also stills and moves naturally, connect to the cleansing restfulness of a bath. Quiet your thoughts and feel your body respond.
Take a gentle walk , grab a cup of tea and head to a secluded area of your house or go for a GENTLE walk. Nature is a great way to release tension, let your mind relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Have a rest time inbetween waking and getting up in the morning , just taking the time to slowly rise to your day is a great way to create a relaxing and meaningful day. No worry thoughts or inner dialogue, just fantasize and intend with positive thoughts and visions.
Meditate , taking the time to go within is integral at any time of year but especially at Winter Solstice. Meditate without putting pressure on yourself, forgive the monkey mind and return to restful thoughts. no goals or intentions other that to be protected and connect to your spirit. Meditate in a fetal position and or use a blindfold to feel the sensation in the body and return to the womb energies of the season. Just be.

Believe it or not, an empty mind is a happy mind.

Have you taken the time to DREAM?

What is life without the Dream? Some of us don’t know how to Dream little, little own to Dream Big...this is the time of year that supports the Dreaming at it’s purest. Go to the place of the heart for your Dream for that is where it truly resides. If you’re looking up as you Dream be aware this could be the mind and the ego trying to do its best to stay in control. Take a breath and look to your heart and navel, that’s where the purest Dream lives. Why not let our imaginations take us to that magical place and DREAM BIG?

A Few Suggestions:

Consider what needs to change . What beliefs do you carry that may be holding you back? It takes guts to call ourselves out and question beliefs that just don’t serve us. We’re all ingrained with a set of learned behaviors that may be stopping us from truly opening ourselves to happiness. It’s okay to question them and seek a better way. That’s a true sign of growth. Why do we limit ourselves?
What do you dream about? Dreams expose truths about our lives, or wants and our needs, we often have trouble seeing. This is where our spirit shines. Keep a dream journal to record your subconscious thoughts. Whenever you wake up in the middle of a dream, write down exactly what occurred. Then analyze the dream the next day and look for signs and signals from your subconscious mind.
Ask yourself, what are your passions? What makes you genuinely happy in life? What gives you a feeling of joy and ease. What are you good at and feeds your soul. Identify your passions, and then do everything in your power to see how you can manifest them into your daily life. Spend time doing the things that you love, whether as a hobby or a career change.
Look for inspiration. Where’s the spark? What inspires you? Where do you find inspiration to drive you forward? Maybe it’s books, art, poetry, websites, animals, friends, or family members. The point is, connect to sources of inspiration every day.
Find what makes you feel like a better human . Part of “happy” is to have a strong self worth and self esteem. What parts of your self worth need to be healed to open yourself to "worthy". Look at what brings that aspect into your life and see how it can be brought in, in a healthy balanced way.

Open yourself to receiving what makes your dreams a reality , don’t limit your happiness by limiting your Dreaming.

Remember ... What you want, wants you!
