A Girl and Her Horse

In 2018, I had the honour of meeting a young woman who had just taken on her first rescued horse. The mare she adopted had been neglected, a solitary life in a small stall and showed signs of other abuse. Even though this mare had endured this situation and had no trust, she still showed kindness, this was a good sign for her new owner and an encouragement to help support this beautiful 4 year old quarter horse to find a different way to live.

With fall comes a shift from the busy buzzing of summer, to grounding, deepening in self and life. Without that grounding, the winter can be more difficult to sustain physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

In February I had the privilege to be asked to assist a family with the memorial arrangements for their be-loved family member. His name was Art and as I got to know his family for the first time, I also got to meet a precious soul who touched me with his character, humour and tenacity.
